Cambridge Nursing Assistant Academy's mission is to prepare students to be competent practitioner's within the prescribed scope
of practice and serve as responsible members of interdisciplinary health care needs across the life span.

enhance the best career growth potential.

Course Information:
This course covers basic nursing skills including taking vital signs, assuring patients safety, and caring for patients with Alzheimer's disease and related disorders. Those wishing to be employed as Geriatric Nursing Assistants can complete this Certified Nursing Assistant course and then apply for Certified Nursing Assistant licensing examination. Our classes consists of 80 hours of
classroom, lab skills and 40 hours of clinical experiencing in and outside facility.

Objectives:
At the completion of the program, the graduate is able to do
the following:

  • Identify patientcare needs in all age groups.
  • Provide safe, competent care utilizing appropriate
    knowledge, skill and abilities.
  • Communicate with clients, their family members,
    co-workers, and other members of the health care team.
  • Assume acountability and responsibility for nursing
    assistant as a competent health care practitioner.

Geriatric Nursing Assistant (GNA):
Upon the succesful completion of the Certified Nursing Assitant course, students are eligible to take the NNAAP test. This test assesses the minimum competence of student to perform the job
of geriatric aide safely and affectively.
